Eli Apple could be upset again.

The Giants cornerback, who said Sunday he wasnt happy about being benched for the first three defensive series of the loss to the Chargers, said Tuesday he currently isnt sure of his role with the defense, and whether hell return to the starting lineup at Denver this weekend.

Its uncertain now, Apple said. But its still early in the week, so we got time to find that out.

I just know, my part, whatever they tell me to do, Im gonna do it.

As for Apples remarks that the Giants whole culture needs to be fixed, the 2016 first-round pick said it wasnt a specific criticism, but meant more as a general statement about ending the teams five-game losing streak.

Just getting everybody on the same page, making sure everybodys mission is to win this game, Apple said. Were 0-5 for a reason. We have to make sure we do everything we can to win the game.

Apple seemed to hint that perhaps the struggling Giants defense may be as predictable as the offense has been accused of.

I think its a combination of a lot of things, but the main thing we need to get back to is just our communication and attacking the quarterbacks a little better, Apple said. We can get quarterbacks a little rattled more. I think theyre kind of picking up some of the stuff were trying to do easily.
